Lets face it, one of the major deficiencies in the wider general acceptance of the new 3D technology, is that those clumsy glasses. Not only are clumsy and awkward, but some of these high-tech glasses will set you back $ 200 or more per pair. So when Toshiba has recently announced the latest CES in Las Vegas, who perfected his glasses-free 3D system at its Qosmio F755 3D gaming laptop line, many believe it will herald a new dawn for 3D games.
In fact, this new technology is a software update, which worked on both the Toshiba and NVIDIA - one of the best names in computer graphics. Qosmio F755 owners can access the software update from the Toshiba Utility service station and to upgrade their machines. So far, true 3D viewing on the TV and other devices has not exactly caused a buying frenzy, or even a wide general acceptance that the producers wanted. Although it must be noted, many TV makers are the inclusion of 3D as a standard feature on their latest models, but most makers do not use it as a major selling point, as opposed to say, High Definition. Again, we are mainly talking about the systems that they need 3D glasses to work.
The big question that must be asked, how the glasses-free televisions and laptop computers with fair buying public? Will consumers be willing to open their wallets, if they can access the best technology without those awkward 3D glasses? Will the players accept these new devices?
Perhaps, they are the best players to test this new 3D system, since it is known that the early adapters of any technology. Besides the 3D images are an essential element is already built into these video games, improving to a full 3D is the next logical step. Take those nasty pictures of glasses, and you just have a winning proposal of May.
One must also consider Nvidia's role in all this, the players respect them and their products. NVIDIA is already one of the leading players in this area with its popular 3D Vision kits - which can already be found in many desktop computers and laptops. If they can work together with other major manufacturers such as Toshiba to produce glass-free systems, and applications on the market or could go far beyond gaming laptop.
, but for now, the real test will be entitled to these new 3D platforms. They can deliver a viewing experience that is better than the regular game? Just look at the definition or high definition - that technology quickly gained wide acceptance because of the greatly increased viewing pleasure and satisfaction of end users. Can this new 3D technology to give the same increase pleasure?
We all know, 3D has been around for ages, but recent renovation seems to have endurance. We are still seeing more and more films are produced in 3D, so this time it may be more than a passing fad. Will the same thing can be said for watching 3D TV and 3D images on the home environment? The jury is still out, but with the recent introduction of free 3D glasses gaming laptops and other devices, the verdict was leaning more towards the column.
